I just discovered your website, and I absolutely adore it! I have a suggestion for a how to: preparing/prepping artichokes. It seems like a lot of people have different ways of doing it. It would be great to know what your favorite way is, or the way to cut them that makes them look the “prettiest.” :o)

Hmmm.. not sure why my smiley face came out like that, maybe because I do a “nose” when I type them. It should be like this– :) lol

I found the website, bought the book and have been absolutely thrilled with all of the recipes. Yours is my favorite vegan cookbook. The recipes are wonderful!

After years of being tempted into a vegan lifestyle I have finally taken the plunge and I couldn’t be more eager, I also couldn’t be more inspired by VeganYumYum which is probably the best site I have come across. It is simple to navigate, look around, and the recipes are well written and easy to follow. Thank you, thank you, thank you …

Hi: I’m so happy to have discovered your vegan Alfredo sauce. FYI: I cut back on the mustard and garlic, though (my preference). I will try those roasted peppers next time I make a batch… Very cool to see you with Martha. You were tremendously poised on national TV. Peas…

Vegan YUM YUM, and you’re not joking!

So glad I’ve found this blog, so inspiring. I’ve been vegan for years and love cooking, but I’m going to get so much from here.

    Fantastic!

    I need your help!

Can you show a picture tutorial on how to prepare tofu? As a newly devoted vegan, I have been trying to follow your recipes, however, I only seem to make tofu disasters or slimy tofu dishes where the tofu has disintegrated into a flavorless mush.

The main reason i love your cookbook is because you show every recipe with a picture. That really helps alot!

I just had to come here and tell you how awesome I think you are! I’m breastfeeding my son who is allergic to SO many things – dairy, eggs, tomato, avocado, pears…the list goes on. I’ve had to become pretty creative with my diet to stay satisfied and at the same time meet our nutritional needs. For the first two months I pretty much stuck to a whole foods diet – fruit, veggies and meat. But I quickly realized I wasn’t going to survive on that diet alone. I need something decadent every once in a while! So I started searching for vegan products and recipes, since I could be confident that they’re dairy and egg free. Wow…really…wow!!! You are inspired! I actually got my husband to not just eat but ENJOY tofu (sweet chili lime). And your alfredo recipe…I didn’t think anything would satisfy my craving for cheese. I really thought it’d be there until I stopped breastfeeding and then I’d lock myself in a room with 10 packages of polly-o mozzerella and not come out until they were all gone. That is no longer a concern! And the potato/leek soup! I mean, recipies don’t get any easier than that but it is SO delicious! I truly can’t wait to try more.

I pray that my son will grow out of his allergies but I will never grow tired of the delicious recipes I’ve found in your cookbook, Thank you for making this experience so much easier for me. Breastfeeding moms often feel isolated and think they have to sacrifice their freedom to breastfeed thier babies. I never felt they way. I love it. And I know I’m doing the best thing for him by breastfeeding him. But not eating cheese, or butter, or an omlette…I really started questioning how I was going to get through this. Now that I found your book I can get back to enjoying breastfeeding my son without feeling like I’m sacrificing anything to do it. Thank you!

    hi lalo!
spent two hours on the floor of borders trying to decide which vegan cookbook i wanted to try… yours was my favorite. thank you for the pictures!!!!! when cooking in a new realm it is always more inspiring to have pictures… it helps visualize what you are doing, ya know. i have serious carnivores in my residences so i am getting whining, whimpering and so on but so far i have loved everything i have tried. my husband loved the cheezy toast with kale. he ate three (big compliment). thank you for making a beautiful and inspiring (fun to read too) cookbook for us non vegan but still globally minded folks

The pics are great! It’s great to see some instructions along with the great recipes. The recipe with seitan and teriyaki sauce you made is something I would really love.

I have been wondering what to do with seitan.
    Thanks for the recipe idea!

i have to tell you that I after finding your blog a few months ago, I bought your cookbook and it is wonderful. Some of the best vegan foods I have ever tasted have come from this blog and your cookbook – prepared in my own kitchen. You are an extremely talented and gifted cook. Don’t let the negative people of this world make you forget that. You gave your time freely to many people and are more than likely responsible for leading a lot of people to veganism and in doing so, made the world a better place. Thank you for your time and efforts.

Your book is the BOMB! Your recipes are delicious and the ingredients are pretty easy to find and work with. I checked out your book from the local library and made the red cauliflower bake recipe and it was delicious!!!!!!! I am starting out as a new vegan and hope to fully make the transition by January 1! I will be buying your book at borders tomorrow I love it so much! Thanks.

Lauren, my daughter and I are beginning our journey through your book, Vegan Yum Yum. We will not be posting your recipes, but we’ll be showcasing them. We plan on having ‘Sunday Suppers’, apart, yet together. She lives in northern California, and I live in Texas.

Your book AND your blog are beautiful!

I got your book-Vegan Yum Yum. I made the breakfast maple soysauce squares with tofu. I learned to get the water out of the tofu. The glaze was amazing! I used it for a ham subsitute over steams bitter melon & cauliflowers! The sweet tangy meaty texture over the vegs. was so delicious!!!!

Thank you so much for all your glorious ideas!!!

We sell them in 5 and 10 lb bags; we are prepping for their arrival now. We have a few recipes on our site as well. Beautiful website and photographs. My wife and I stay at your parent’s cabin (Apple House) every October and she gave us one of your cookbooks last year. We just adopted a vegan diet and am looking forward to trying your recipes. Good luck!

I love your book and blog. I was at Barnes and Noble looking thru the Vegan cookbooks when I saw yours.

I read a bit of it and saw that it had some tasty looking recipes. I bought it and went home and made the Macaroni and Cheese.

I have been a Vegan for 2 1/2 months and am tired of just beans and plain tasting food.

I ate three bowls of the Mac and Cheese before I could stop. It is so tasty. Thank you so much. I think I can do this Vegan diet now with your book and blog. I have to do it for health reasons. I’m 72 and it’s hard to change. Thank you a million times. Pattsy ps I found your blog in your book.
