47. sarah | September 10th, 2009 at 10:17 am
hi. i was a tester for this cookbook and was wondering if all that was promised to me is still coming? or was that thrown out the window? i do not think that is a fair way to do things, or very respectful. are the recipes that were tested in the book?
Hi Sarah! My author copies just arrived, so I’m in the process this very moment of doing a post that mentions that testers can contact me with their updated address for their free copies. The post will be up in a few minutes (I’m almost done writing it), but for those who are wondering: of course testers get copies! If you were a tester, email me your current address and I’ll get a book out to you.
Thanks!

Oh, I already ordered it on Amazon and just now watched your video.. Sorry!!
I asked you some months ago if it was going to be released in Europe.. Well I bought it on my own country’s Amazon-site (Austria) which does not have that many vegan cookbooks, so that’s great :) I thought I’d have to order it via Amazon UK if not the US directly.
56. Christa | September 10th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
Congratulations! I am really looking forward to it.
57. Jeanine | September 10th, 2009 at 6:53 pm

He looks really well and more, not like those we have here in France: (
Anyway cookbooks vegan, here it is not! It is ugly books without pictures with recipes sad or anything! There must have 2 vegan and more!
You’re lucky in America …
So I’ll try the recipe and give you my impressions too!

86. VeganPower | September 22nd, 2009 at 5:22 am
Hi Lauren,
I just realized the recipe “Maple Creamy Sesame Dressing” for the salad I’ll eat soon:)
This sauce is perfect, exactly the flavors I like a vinaigrette, I’m going to enjoy.
My result is slightly darker, I used balsamic vinegar brown, so I put the white, the result would have been like in your book.
Great! I am pleased with this new sauce, I will realize that very often, because I love salad with smoked tofu, mmmmmm so good!
Thank you for this book ! it will help me because I’m always looking for inspiration for savory dishes. Desserts and company, no worries, I always find good things to do.
I hope that google has translated my French
87. Rachel Rector | September 22nd, 2009 at 9:40 am

Lauren! I missed this video before I saw VYY on the shelf, so I bought it before the 16th. BUT I have shared it with many friends, who are now going to buy it! Yippeee!
I will probably do a review of it on my blog, to share it with more friends and family. They already know you are my fave blogger. I talk about your food porn and recipes all the time.
Best of Luck! Although, you don’t really need it, the book is fantabulous!
89. MG | September 23rd, 2009 at 8:57 am
Can’t wait to buy your book! I’ll only get it in a couple of weeks, because I’m moving (between countries) soon, but hopefully I’ll have it in my hands by mid-October!
So glad it has lots of colour-pictures – I do appreciate that in cookbooks.
90. Monica Z | September 23rd, 2009 at 1:17 pm

91. Cynthia | September 23rd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I just wanted to say your cookbook is amazing. This is how a cookbook should be written! And all the photos are great!
I’ve already tried 2 recipes (I’m happily munching on a vegan BLT with the Smokey Miso Tofu) and can’t wait to try more.
This is a must have cookbook for anyone who follows the blog or just enjoys really good food.

Congrats on getting your book out there! I love how much colour you have included in your layout – let’s face it, a big part in deciding on what cookbook to purchase is in the layout. I’ll be adding it to my wish list for sure.
97. ania | October 5th, 2009 at 4:13 pm

I am interested to know if you are available or have done any seminars. I have recently become interested in veganism/vegetarianism, and since I live in Boston and will soon be the president of a nonprofit organization, I am hoping you will come speak to us about the benefits of such a liftstyle. Could you please email me privately, even if the answer if no. I would really appreciate it!!
In the meantime, I just got the book and I love it…especially the pictures. They make a huge difference in a cookbook!!!
Thank you in advance!
Lisa

Hi!! I’ve been watching your blog for quite some time now, and have made a few of the recipes from it and always satisfied afterward. When I stumbled upon this one the other night and saw that you have a BOOK!!! I think I shrieked aloud with joy. I called my local Chapters who had one copy and had them hold it for me, and ran out and bought it first thing the next day. I made the Cashew cream to go along with some salad rolls i made, and it was delicious!!! I also made the stuffed french toast yesterday with the strawberry syrup and it was incredible. I made the hurry up alfredo a few nights ago and it was yummy, but mine turned out brown, not white like your photo. how did you avoid the darker colour with ingredients like tamari, tahini and paprika?? Oh and I made your fried green tomatoes too, YUMYUM!!!!! I was lucky enough to find some green ones in my mom’s garden. They were perfect. Thank you so much for this wonderful blog and now the awesome book! It’s gorgeous!
100. tzyk | October 7th, 2009 at 9:42 am

101. Emily Webber | October 9th, 2009 at 12:58 am
I just got the book today. I just have to say, WOW!!!!!!! I think your book is one of the best cookbooks I’ve ever read. Not just vegan cookbooks, but best cookbooks, period. I have been vegan for 7 years and have a lot of cookbooks. I’m a cooking teacher and food writer and just started my own blog. I aspire for my work to be as beautiful as yours. You really are fortunate to have discovered your passion and your talent so early in life. Congratulations on the beautiful book.
P.S. Have you done any teaching? Dr. John and Mary McDougall hosts a (vegan) Celebrity Chef Weekend every year in Santa Rosa, CA. I certainly can’t speak for them, but I bet they’d love to have you as one of the celebrities. I’m sure the attendees would be thrilled to meet you. You can email Mary through their website. I’ve worked with them a few times and they are super nice.
102. Naty | October 9th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
congratulations and lots and lots (and lots) of thank yous from Costa Rica!!
my book arrived today and I couldn’t be happier! it’s so lovely and the recipes look amazing…I love that every recipe has its own picture and that some of them even have pictures of the steps to follow…
there are some ingredients that are probably going to be impossible to get here, but I’ll try to substitute this and that until I get it right…
again, THANK YOU!
lots of love!
103. Gabrielle | October 10th, 2009 at 8:15 am
I got your book a week or so ago, and it is my new favorite (and I have over 350 cookbooks!) – beautiful, just beautiful – the photos, the layout, the food, the recipes – great job, Lolo! You have produced a book that should wind up in every food lover’s library. Thank you!! :)

When are you going to post again?
106. Vanessa | October 21st, 2009 at 12:51 am
Hi, I was wondering if you came up with all those recipes on your own, or inspired by someone else?
How long did it took you to write the cookbook? And how did you put it all together with the pictures and recipe?
How did you get it published?
107. Mr.Carrot77 | October 22nd, 2009 at 5:15 am
?Until about three weeks ago I was almost exclusively a stay-at-home mom. ,

Hi LoLo – We just received our copies of your cookbook yesterday and wow – gorgeous book! A few of us are trying “being vegan” during the month of January and your book will be a staple guide in our plan. Congrats on your success!

He’s not a vegetarian, but can’t get enough of all your tasy dishes! I never thought I’d make somoas, but your recipe was not at all intimidating. I like the step by step pictures. Thanks!!

I recently stumbled across your book and all I can say is WOW! I’ve tried several of the recipes and have loved them all. I made the picnic sandwiches for my husband and me to enjoy on the deck this 1st springlike weekend. I am vegan but he isn’t and he liked them as much as I did. Can’t wait to toss a few in the backpack next time we go hiking. Thanks.

I stumbled across your book at Border’s and it is amazing! I have to tell you that I have always been health conscious and have made several efforts to go comeplteley vegetarian. However, it never lasts long as most of the recipes I could find were bland and without enough substance to keep me satisfied. Your recipes are satisfying, very delish and made with accessible ingredients. I can’t thank you enough for being the catalyst for a sustaining life enhancing change! You certainly are a creative genius (and your photos are gorgeous too!) . Take care and nurture yourself as you have a true gift. I hope you get high profile exposure so that you can change more people’s lives for the better-Oprah??
