I’m Sorry. Bad news.

I have some bad news about the book.

This week my publisher and I had some disagreements we could not work out. The result is I will not be publishing with Herbivore, and therefore the book will not be available for the holidays like I had so hoped it would be.

I cannot tell you how sorry I am that the book is going to be delayed. I’m super upset that this didn’t work out; this wasn’t an easy decision for me to make since I want my book published as much as anyone. To have it happen this late in the game is especially depressing.

You all have been such wonderful supporters of me, and I can’t thank you enough for that. Without you there wouldn’t be a book at all. Rest assured that I am actively searching out a new publisher, and I will work as hard as I can to get the book out as soon as possible.

The kicker is that this especially affects the people who have already pre-ordered a book–the very people who are most excited to about it. If you’re one of those people I can do nothing but offer my utmost apologies, and assure you that you will be refunded 100%.

If you purchased a book, Herbivore will refund you automatically. You do not need to contact them in order to receive your refund.

Again, I’m really, really sorry about all this. Believe me when I say I’m trying my best to get the book back on track.

Sorry things didn’t work out the way you hoped for! There are lots of other publishers out there that I’m sure would be very interested in your book. With all the press attention you’ve received and your huge blog following, I’m sure you’ll find a publisher that suits your needs in no time!

So sorry this book deal didn’t work out. I was looking forward to your book as an xmas present. I hope you find the perfect place for your “baby”. It will be worth the wait for those of us (patiently) waiting.

it’s a shame that everyone is assuming this is a difference in creative vision and may not be chalked up to a disagreement over money or some other aspect of publishing.

sucks that you have to find a new publisher, but i feel bad for herbivore, who are now in the position of having put a lot of effort and money into a project that will not materialize…

Well, I’ll just get the book whenever it comes out – no worries! And good luck on finding a new publisher. Don’t feel bad – it’s your choice who publishes the book. Nothing wrong with Herbivore, nothing wrong with you.

the universe has a master plan. a few ideas of publishers:(taken from my vegan bookshelf)
    10 speed press
    thousand petals publishing
    marlowe & co.
    clarkeson/potter publishers
    harvard common press
    arsenal pulp
you will be taken care of- just breathe well, rest, and think of the grander scheme.

Sorry to hear about your setback. I love your recipes so I will buy several copies of your book whenever it comes out. My mates and I can wait. It will be worth it. You have my support!

Sorry to hear about the setback lolo, but everything will work out & it will be well worth the wait for all of us. Best of luck to you. Hopefully it will all fall in to place with ease…

Maybe you could just put it on your blog and charge people for pdfs? Better than making $1 or $2 per book like most writers.

Aw, that’s too bad Lolo! I hope everything works out the way you had planned, in the long run. It’s better to wait and have things done the way you wanted, rather than rush in along. Good move.

Sorry to here this Lolo! I look forward to when it is available whether you find a different publisher or even offer a downloadable PDF.

If you weren’t happy, it is better that you didn’t compromise…no matter what the reason.

Pumpkin whoopie pies look great. When I was a non vegan working at a bakery in Maine, we used to make whoopie pies.

The cake part was just devil’s food cake batter scooped with an ice cream spoon. IDK if that helps in figuring out the consistency in the future.

Awww…I’m so sorry. It really sucks that it won’t be out in time for the holidays. I’ve been waiting for the book for awhile, it doesn’t make much difference if I have to wait longer, I’ll still buy it. I was really looking forward to having it for Christmas! Good luck finding another publisher that works for you!

Does the internet really always have to be about people making negative, snarky comments? Lolo already said she doesn’t want people playing the blame game, so why go there? Who cares what the split was about, since it’s no one else’s business anyway?

It sucks for her, it sucks for Josh, as they were both putting a lot of time and money into a project that won’t materialize to their mutual satisfaction. They’re adults and it is possible for people to have an amicable split and we don’t have to choose to like one or the other. This isn’t the third grade playground.
