Cookbook Excitement
June 30th, 2007
Stumble it!
I’m getting really excited about my upcoming cookbook. Herbivore will be publishing it, which is fantastic, and we hope to have it in people’s hands by November 15th of this year. You will be able to order it direct from Herbivore, on Amazon, and a few other places as well.
It’s going to be great!
Here’s a sneak peek of some of the recipes that will be in the book:
Sheera - An Indian Cream of Wheat

Delicata Squash stuffed with Cherry Almond Apple Couscous

I’m really happy about all the recipes so far, but I must say, I’m a little overly excited about the boba tea. All the commercially available mixes I’ve found are not vegan (they contain “non-dairy” creamers contianing, you guessed it, dairy). I’ve figured out a way to make a boba tea powder you can mix up at home in bulk. Yippee! Boba tea for everyone!
I also wanted to give a quick shout-out to my 70+ testers who are helping me make sure the recipes work. You guys rock, I wouldn’t be able to do this without you! Thanks!

Is it too late to ask if you need any more testers? Specifically, any boba tea mix testers? Just kidding- everything looks so good.

13. Eric | July 2nd, 2007 at 12:38 pm
I’m excited, too, Lolo! And wait until I tell Jen about the boba. She’ll be thrilled!
14. Mia | July 2nd, 2007 at 1:16 pm
I can ‘t wait for the boba recipes!!! I love it but have to be really careful with it. Of course, since the only way I can have boba is to drive 40 miles one way, I rarely get it. And I love cookbooks.
15. Amber | July 2nd, 2007 at 1:38 pm
Can’t wait! Can we preorder it from somewhere?
16. Ryan | July 2nd, 2007 at 2:17 pm
Rambutan? For real for real? Aweseome.
I’ve loved those little buggers since 1998 when I went to Vietnam (where they’re known as chom choms) and ate them straight from the tree. So cool to see them working their way into unique recipes.
Really looking forward to your book! Just watch out for Josh. You can’t trust a dude with a mug like that.

Hi Lolo!
I’d really like to get a copy of your book when it’s in the shops but there’s one problem: I live in Germany where it won’t be in the shops! Do I have any possibility to purchase your book without paying horribly high shipping costs? Will it be available at Amazon.de (the German site)?
Thanks!
33. Hillary | July 10th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
Oh wow! I’m not even a vegan and I’m excited about your cookbook! What is the exact date it comes out? The sheera picture looks absolutely delicious. I LOVE cream of wheat as it is. Thanks for the previews!
And if you’re interested, we’d love to have your recipes over at Recipe4Living; the vegan selection is very much underrepresented. Or, you can be our next celebrity chef!

Hello,
I got to your site originally because of those fantastic cupcakes but now I see that the cupcakes were just the beginning. These pics look tremendous. I am a vegetarian aspiring to be a vegan and it looks like your cookbook will be an inspiration! You do amazing work.
Cherry Almond Apple Couscous? On Squash?? Yuuuum!

Your photos are so enticing, I’m not at all vegan, but I definitely look forward to picking up your cookbook as it seems like it will have lots of unique things!

I have never so eagerly anticipated a cookbook before! I might even be more excited about this than the next Harry Potter, and I’ve been waiting for that for years.
When can we expect it on Amazon?

dommage que les textes n’est pas une version bilingue car les photos donne une envie terrible de faire les recettes. a moins que je me mette à l’anglais
49. chosha | August 10th, 2007 at 7:40 pm
Wow, I’m really looking forward to this recipe book, and I’m not even vegan. You blog is the first thing that ever convinced me that a person can be vegan and still have an interesting diet and it will be first on my gift list for two friends: one a vegetarian and the other who simply can’t tolerate dairy. I think all three of us are going to be very happy with it, if the recipes I see here are anything to go by.
50. bethie | August 13th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
everything looks delish, besides herbivore & amazon, where else can the cookbook be bought? i am very wary of amazon.com, will the book be available at bn.com too?
nov 15, perfect release date, just in time for the holidays
51. Carli | September 2nd, 2007 at 10:14 am

52. Rieddhi | September 21st, 2007 at 1:27 pm
When is your cookbook coming out? I want it ASAP!
My mom makes sheera, and it’s delicious, and I can’t wait to make it vegan. And everything else looks delicious too!
53. Bharati Shah (Betty) | September 21st, 2007 at 9:15 pm
I am Rieddhi’s mom who has posted a comment about creamof wheat sheera, I will send you some of my vegetarian vegan receipes, sheera is 100%vegetarian, you can even make sheera from almonds, if intrested, please let me know, by the way I have a receipe for a mango pie, but the way I invented my receipe is with unflavored gelatin, any idea how to make it 100%vegan , please help, because my very concious vegetarian daughter Rieddhi will not eat my mango pie, and she is my mango pie. Thanks, Betty Shah

I can’t wait for your cookbook to come out (I’ve already put it on my Christmas list!). I especially want to try that Sheera. I used to eat something like that at a vegetarian lunch buffet when I went to university. I have been hankering after something like it for the last two years.
